HRH The Duke of Edinburgh

As we wish to continue to support our community with regards to the need for social distancing, Hollinswood & Randlay Parish Council has respected the wishes of The Palace and will not be opening up a Book of Condolence at this time.  However, we are encouraging you to complete the online Book of Condolence which has been set up on behalf of The Royal Family – https://www.royal.uk/condolence

The funeral of HRH, The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh will take place at 3pm on Saturday, 17th April 2021 in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

A procession will leave for the West Steps of St George’s Chapel at 2.45pm led by The Band of the Grenadier Guards.  The route will be lined by members of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, the Highlanders, 4th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Royal Air Force.

The Prince of Wales and members of the Royal Family and staff from His Royal Highness’s Household will follow on foot as the coffin is taken into the Chapel.  The Queen will arrive separately.  The coffin will pause for the national minute’s silence at 3pm.

Our Chairman, Councillor Sheenagh Unwin, has written to Her Majesty The Queen, on behalf of the residents of the Parish, to express our deepest sympathy to her and the entire Royal Family and to offer our condolences in memory of a remarkable man who has served our Queen and Country throughout the years.
