Buckingham Palace has announced that His Royal Highness Prince Philip has sadly passed away this morning, on Friday, 9th April 2021.

A statement from the Palace said

“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle”

Chairman of Hollinswood & Randlay Parish Council, Councillor Sheenagh Unwin, has led the tributes and the Union Flag has been lowered to half-mast over Hollinswood Neighbourhood Centre, as a period of National Mourning commences.

Councillor Unwin said ‘Our thoughts and prayers are with Her Majesty, The Queen, and all Members of the Royal Family as this sad time’.
